Personal Outdoor Swimming Pools

Personal Outdoor Swimming Pools

After WWII, all of the soldiers came back from Europe and they brought home hope and a grand future for them and their new families. The work force and universities slowly absorbed the patriotic Americans and a new era in productivity was born. Since those early days, the American economy has grown faster than at anytime before. The growth was so great that the standard of living in the states continues to climb. Extra money in American pockets has meant spending. With this spending have come luxuries. Many people now have outdoor swimming pools in their back yard. These outdoor swimming pools are popular in places where the winter isnt harsh. Pools can be above ground or built into the ground. Outdoor swimming pools can come in any shape and size with depths of only three feet or over eight feet deep. There have always been municipal pools but residential pools are steadily becoming very popular.

Homeowners can now landscape the back yard and include the permanent outdoor swimming pools into the overall plan. This can really make a statement and adds a lot of value to the overall cost of the home. Kids that grow up with pools learn to swim quickly and are safer in most water situations.

Caution around Pools

Even though outdoor swimming pools are a lot of fun, there are a few things that people should consider before they install their own pools. The insurance company will not insure a home with a pool unless a wall is built. This is so that a neighborhood child doesnt see the pool and accidentally fall in. Also, when having an outdoor swimming pool makes sure that there is a long lifeguard pole in case someone panics while in the pool. Nobody wants to have a kid drown at their house and have to live with all of that guilt. Whenever kids are in the outdoor swimming pool make sure that there is always an adult present and paying attention to those in the water.

One good idea is to know how many kids there are in the pool at any given time and continually count heads to make sure no one is on the bottom. It is almost impossible to see a child at the bottom of a pool when people are playing in the pool. An outdoor swimming pool is a great addition to a back yard and will be used often for many years to come.
